Terms of service

Ordering & Payment

The total order amount is reserved on your account when placing an order. The payment is debited from your card when the order is dispatched. All customers paying by card are subject to validation checks. We do not store any payment information in our database for security reasons.

Credit card

We offer safe credit card payments (Visa, MasterCard, etc.). Transactions on tides.no are processed using Stripe, a third-party secure online payment gateway that encrypts your card details in a secure host environment. Additionally, we offer payment through Klarna and Vipps for our Norwegian customers.

Shipping

Customers outside Norway will see prices including VAT when purchasing and all taxes and duties are paid by the seller. We ship international orders with DHL. Shipping cost and alternatives are displayed during check out.

Returns

Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have passed since your purchase, unfortunately, we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition as you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

We require a receipt or proof of purchase from tidesnorway.com to complete your return. Package the item well and return it to the following address:

There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable)

- Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error

- Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery

You should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance if you return an item. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

Refunds (if applicable)

Once your return is received and inspected, we will email you to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If you are approved, the refund minus shipping charges will be processed, and a refund will automatically be made to your credit card or original payment method within a certain number of days.

Delayed or missing refund (if applicable)

If you have not received an agreed refund, recheck your bank account. You then contact the credit card company, it may take some time before the refund is registered on your account or credit card. If you have done all this and still need to receive your refund, please contact us at post@tides.no.

Sale items (if applicable) 

Only regular items can be refunded. Unfortunately, sale items cannot be refunded.

Exchange (if applicable) 

We only replace goods if they are defective or damaged. If you would like to exchange it for another item, please email us at post@tides.no for confirmation and then send the item to:

When receiving the item, we will refund your purchase (not the shipping cost), and you can place a new order.

Right to cancel

You may cancel the order under the Cancellation Act. You must inform us that you will exercise this right within 14 days after the start of the cancellation period, which starts on the day your purchase is delivered to you. This time limit includes all calendar days. If the period ends on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday, the period will be extended until the next business day.

The deadline to exercise your right to cancel will be seen as met if notice is sent before the end of the cancellation period. You have the burden of proof for demonstrating that the right has been asserted, and notice must therefore be submitted in writing (via the cancellation form, email or letter).

The cancellation period will be extended to 12 months after the end of the original period should Tides inform you of the right to cancel and the standard cancellation form before the conclusion of the contract. This will also apply if the information on terms and conditions, time limits and procedures for exercising the right to cancel are insufficient. However, if Tides gives this information during these 12 months, the cancellation period ends 14 days after the day you receive the information.

When the right to cancel is exercised, the goods must be returned to Tides (address in the returns section) within a reasonable amount of time and no later than 14 days after notice has been given on the intention to exercise the right. Unless otherwise agreed, the customer must cover the direct costs associated with returning the goods.

Tides are obligated to pay back the purchase sum to you without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we receive notice of your decision to exercise the right to cancel. We have the right to retain the repayment until we have received the goods or until you have documented that the goods have been sent back.

Unclaimed Packets

If we receive packages from a customer/recipient who has failed to pick up the package sent to them, we reserve the right to charge the customer for all the costs incurred in such return + a handling cost of 20 USD / 200 NOK.

Conflict resolution

Claims must be directed to the Seller within a reasonable time frame in accordance with our policy above. The parties shall attempt to resolve any disputes out of court.
